Red velvet as a wedding cake

So these cakes are very pretty indeed, I’ve never tried one myself unfortunately but think they look wonderful. Alledgedly it is a chocolate cake, strange. I think i should find one of these to eat one day soon or make my own, i have vague recollections of a cupcake stall in the pallasades in birmingham that had a red velvet one and they are relatively cheap, so i might try one of those. Anyway, i found a recipe for the cake here for any of you out there that like to get creative in the kitchen or are simply domestic godesses:

and another here:

and another here:

now i havent tried or tested or vetted these recipes myself yet so i do not know if they are any good. There are plenty of cupcake recipes out there too, as a cute alternative that makes for a great place setting idea, personalised with a icing letter on the top or something?

i also found cookie looking things and delicious looking things called whoopie pies, which i have never heared of before.I think they just might be the subject of my next post.

Anyway- back on topic, for brides having a dessert table with multiple cakes and cookies and muffins and all that kind of thing i think this cake would be ideal. Very dramatic and very impressive looking.the cupcakes do too actually, and dare i say they’d be easier to make yourself than the larger version?
