Rosa Clara wedding gowns

okay so another look at another designer and thier bridal gowns, i think thgis time though the designer is spanish, but dont quote me on that. theres quite a lot of variety in these gowns, some full massive skirts, some slinky biased cuts, some with plenty of lace that channel grace kelly’s gown, all sorts! Karl largerfeld also did a collaberative collection with Rosa Clara so some of the images of those gowns are below.

my favourites are the dresses within the “soft” collection witch are the ones in the photos where there is both a white and peach coloured gown. grecian and lightweight fabrics and i really had to refrain from posting every single design from that collection. oops.hope you like them as much as i do.

Jenny Packham spring/summer 2012 collection

part two if you like, the second of her collections. unfortunately a video catwalk of this collection hasnt featured on the JP website as of yet.so again here are my favourites from the collection:

so heres a rundown of the dresses ive included:

Aspen:the lace detail in the v neck and the delicate cap sleeves are to die for for me. the train is small, and for someone who doesnt like trains this one isnt too bad. it has a belt like detail with a little embelishment and is ever so slightly grecian.

Primrose: only achievable for the very thin by the look of it. very pretty and those spaghetti straps are lovely. flowy and lightweight but quite figure hugging at the same time, brilliant.

ELM!: personal favourite, very heavy on the beading and grecian sleeves on the one side.it almost looks like a toga.the lace fabric looks like cobwebs at the bottom and i’ve never seen this material used on a wedding dress before and i am in love with it! to put it simply. so different and edgey i think and it really sets it apart from the others.

Ormlie:jewels that remind me of an underbust corset that then extends to the straps, glamourous and yewt still very simple.its a fun dress i think and although i wouldnt chose to try this on if i were in the store, it’s still very pretty.

Trellis:elegant and sequiney at the top, another simple style thats quite columney.

nymph:one of the few short JP dresses, i really like this one, as a fan of tea length dresses i think this is adorable and very cute.and its got the sheer part at the top which is lovely and delicate.the skirt isnt too full and its informal without looking too party dress like.

foxglove: one of the cap sleeve jennys, beautiful lightweight lace that doesnt look like the tacky kind that a lot of dresses out there feature. quite heavy on the beading without being too much and the sleeves add a demure look.

Anise: i love the way this dress fits, all twsity and gathered in to focus into the waist. the v neck and the belt and the train make this quite elegant i think. many many of the JP dresses have v necks like this an each of them are just that little bit different and they all have something new and exciting to offer.

parma: THAT cobweb looking lace is back again! wheheyy.i think its just so devine and different. the sleeves again are a personal favourite and dont you just love them?

iris:reminds me of elm, off the shoulder but just very hevay on the beads.for those who want to make a statement. i wonder if this dress feels heavy to wear.to me it appears to have a champagne hue to it.uber grecian so of course a thumbs up from me.

willow: i know i said elm was the favourite but every time i look at the collection i find a different one to call my favourite and this time i think this is it. the cute little flowers on the belt. the way the embellishing gives way to that lightweight fabric skirt, the sleeves. the way it looks so perfectly fitted and so flattering, and the way the sides of the skirt almost are longer then the front to show a peek of your bridal shoes.its another godess grecian type in my opinion and wouldnt you just feel a million dollars in this, so pretty.

violet, last but not least: its that sheer panel in the middle that does it for me, another feature ive never seen on a wedding gown before. and it adds a subtle sence of class to that plunging neckline.i love how its gathered in at the waist. It’s very simple and has virtually no embelishing or beading so is probably one of the collections safer dresses. still very floaty and still very gorgeous!

so there we go, all of my favourite jenny packham dresses adressed. although, as i said, there are plenty on the website that may be much more your cup of tea than mine,

lets get on with it shall we? – Jenny Packham’s spring/summer 2011 collection

okay, so, first attempt at an actual wedding-related post. and i think i shall play it safe and have it be dedicated to my favourite wedding dress designer-Jenny Packham.

so why do i like her so much? Her dresses are right up my street-not literally, her store is in london. But in the way that they are just the style i have always considered to be one of my favourite. They have that kind of attraction that only very expensive things can do. the fact that they are so pricey makes me think that they are even more worth having. but the only trouble with these dresses is, where do you start!? they are all so beautiful and even the ones i am not keen on i can still honestly say they are nice in thier own way. now im quite picky and opinionated on wedding dresses, i have styles that i like and ones i would not be seen dead in. others may look lovely in huge dresses that drag behind them on the floor, but so far, i do not think they would be for me. back with Jenny Packham, she has two collections and mot of them tend to be taking a nod towards the art deco style of the 20s.long, coloumn dresses that just take on a whole new level of sophistication of thier own. i’d like to think of these dresses as my muse. To wear one of these when i get married would be an honor. I’m not sure that theres a JP out there for everyone, because i will admit that in my opinion her styles within her collections are not overly varied. but thats just another thing i admire this designer for, she has a vision and knows what she likes. I personally think these dresses are not exactly your mainstream typical dresses either. Which again is only part of the appeal. Lets take a look.

From the spring and summer 2011 collection here are my favourites:

this collection is my least favourite out of the two, but from top to bottom the dresses are: Eden, Berkley,Ceres, Saskia, Giralda, Minerva, Cascade, Antonella, Belita and Gaia. My personal favourite out of this collection is the berkley despite the fact that i cannot stand dresses without straps, so thats a special occasion for me to admit that a strapless dress is so good. of course there are many more delicious dresses within this collection so for anyone who wants to see the whole hog and not just the ones i prefer then the website is http://www.jennypackham.com/

eden is definately for those who love thier embellishments and want to take that to a whole new level. i think its shape is very flattering and its unusual. I’d like to think so.

berkley as i said before is one of my biggest favourites, column, body skimming, slimming, it looks very lightweigh which is a trait most of the jp dresses share, the detailing in the fabric with how the top is shaped is just to die for. i could spend all day looking at it.

Ceres is one for those who like larger dresses and fuller skirts, i love the sheer straps, subtle and pretty.

now saskia, those shoulder puffs, you either love them or you dont. although i have to say im on the fence. the embelishment on the neckline is typical of almost all of Jenny’s dresses and is pretty much a signature thing amongst her collections.

Giralda uses a lot of layers and glittery embelishment without being over the top i think, granted it may not look exactly like a wedding dress, more of a party dress or red carpet number. but theres something about it for me.

Minerva, the lace under the straps is what really catches my eye, again, its different.it has a fuller skirt but looks much more lightweight than i would expect for a skirt that size. the twist in the middle is devine and very flatering and the embellishment on the shoulder i think just topps it off.

now cascade i think is almost the same as giralda just with slight alterations to the embellishment.it looks floaty light and ever so comfortable.

Antonella, where do i start with this dress. it is so unique its hard to know where to begin. its completely covered in sequins as you can see, this i find quite brave, and could only be pulled off by certain people. i actually like the way it exposes the middle of the chest yet covering the mid drift. only certain people who are less blessed in the chest department could look demure in this dress in my opinion. as shown by the model. it has sleeves!!! which i love in a wedding dress, in fact the sleeves are batwing, which makes it just that little more awesome. the one fault i have with this dress is when i saw it in the catwalk video featured on the website it looked completely different to on the photo you see here. now, obviously these dresses will look different in person, and again they will take on a whole new identity and look once they are put on. but for me seeing it move and in “real life” in motion like that killed it for me. too silvery, too shimmery, all a bit vulgar, in your face and not the subtle beauty it first appeared to be. however, im going to include it here still because there are people out there that would rock this dress and for what its worth its still rather pretty.

Belita, its again fully embellished a bit like eden from earlier.strapless again, but its simple i recon. how glittery it is makes it look slightly party dress like to me. but then again its still stunning.

that leaves us with Gaia, i saw this worn by a bride on abother wedding blog. and i must say that jp must do something to get a photo of the back of this dress put up here on her website. this dress is very grecian, and any grecian dress sends me a little bit gaga and a makes me melt a little bit. so the back is sheer with goldish embellishment like beading and whatnot. let me show you,

see,it suprises me that the website doesnt show all this detail.

i’m going to make a seperate post next about the dresses from the spring summer 2012 collection. Hope that folks appreciate these dresses as much as i do and can see just how wonderful they are. spreading the Jenny Packham love!
